Choosing Essentials Amenities correctly

Place, line, material, tray: the buying guide to guest amenities in paper sachets

A guest amenity in a paper sachet raises different questions than one in film: what the paper wrapper changes for housekeeping, how many items belong on a tray and what toothbrush, razor and comb are made of when plastic is only a share. This guide leads from the range to the tray of one hotel.

THE GUIDES

Three questions, three answers

Each guide answers one question that buyers ask us about guest amenities in paper sachets. Dispensers, refilling and the demand for cosmetics are covered in the hotel cosmetics guide; here it is about the items on the tray.

All items with picture, content and pieces per case are on the page Essentials Amenities in paper sachets.

THE LINES AT A GLANCE

Elegant Amenities and Classic Amenities: two wrappers, one content

The Essentials Amenities come in two lines. The content of the kits is almost the same in both; the difference lies in the wrapper and the handle. Anyone who knows that reads every product page in a minute.

Elegant Amenities: the paper sachet

A flat pouch of paper, beige, printed with soy ink, the description in four languages and one pictogram per item. Vanity kit, dental kit, shaving kit, comb, hairbrush, sewing kit, manicure set, loofah sponge, shower cap and hygiene bag look the same on the tray; only name and pictogram set them apart. The handles come in bamboo or in straw and corn starch with PP, the stem of the cotton buds is bamboo.

Classic Amenities: the PLA bag

The same kits in a white, translucent bag of PLA, a plastic made from corn starch, plus the Amenities Box of cardboard, a 7 cm cube that brings cotton pads, cotton buds, nail file and shower cap together. Here the cotton buds have a paper stem. The line is the choice for hotels that want a waterproof wrapper or work without a tray.

What is the same in both lines

The 5 g toothpaste, the 10 ml shaving cream, cotton pads and cotton balls of cotton, the nail file, the sewing kit with six threads and two buttons. And the case: the unit for ordering and storage, from which housekeeping takes an inner pack for the trolley. Both lines are made in China; that is stated as a property on every product page.

A word of honesty: PLA is a plastic, even though it is made from corn starch, and the handles of straw or corn starch are 65 percent PP. Both are stated on the product. A hotel that wants a wrapper of paper takes Elegant Amenities; one that wants a handle of bamboo too chooses it within the line.

THE WAY TO THE ORDER

From the range to the tray, in four steps

A hotel rarely needs more than six kits. Four questions lead there, and for each there is a guide that answers it in full.

Open carton with bundled paper sachets and a tray being restocked in a hotel linen room

1. Which category is the room?

The category decides the number, not the quality. Three sachets in the standard room: vanity kit, dental kit, shower cap. Six in superior and business, adding shaving kit, sewing kit and comb. Eight and more in the suite, adding manicure set, hairbrush, sleep set, loofah sponge and hygiene bag.

2. Lay out or hand over?

What almost every guest opens is laid out: vanity kit, dental kit, shower cap. What one guest in ten needs, reception hands over: shaving kit, sewing kit, manicure set, earplugs. This rule saves two to four sachets per arrival and clears away less unopened, without any guest missing anything.

3. Bamboo or blended handle?

Bamboo is visible: grain, warm colour, every piece slightly different. The handles of straw or corn starch with PP are light, smooth and uniform. A hotel that wants to make the material a topic takes bamboo; one that wants a calm tray takes the blended handle. Both sit in the same paper sachet.

4. How many cases per month?

Rooms times arrivals per month gives the arrivals. Times sachets per arrival and item gives the monthly demand, divided by the pieces per case the cases per month, rounded up, plus one in reserve. A hotel with 80 rooms and twelve arrivals per room has 960 arrivals: one case of 1,000 vanity kits lasts about a month, one case of 500 dental kits two weeks.

The hotel's logo

The paper sachet takes a single-colour print: logo, lettering or pictogram of the hotel next to the pictogram of the item. The minimum quantity is stated per item in the portal under personalisation; the process is the same as for the hotel slipper: send the logo, approve the draft, approve the sample photo, then the series runs. A hotel that wants to start straight away orders the sachets with the print of the range and plans the logo with the next order.

A tray as a sample: A hotel switching to the paper sachet for the first time orders the three kits of the standard room and the shaving kit as samples, each once with bamboo and once with a blended handle. One tray in the bathroom shows within a week whether wrapper, handle and housekeeping fit together.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the Essentials Amenities

What purchasing and housekeeping ask before the first order.

Can Elegant Amenities and Classic Amenities be mixed in the same hotel?+
Yes, and many hotels do: the paper sachet on the tray of the rooms, the Amenities Box of cardboard in hotels without a tray or in apartments, the PLA bag where a wrapper has to be waterproof. The content is the same, only the wrapper changes, and housekeeping sorts by case.
What belongs on the tray of a family room?+
The tray of the standard room, plus a second dental kit and the comb. Shaving kit and manicure set stay at reception; instead, swimming caps are ready for the pool. Family hotels lay out the comb rather than the shaving kit, hotels with business travellers the other way round.
How long do the kits keep?+
Sachet, cotton pads, comb, sewing kit and shower cap last for years in a closed case. Toothpaste and shaving cream have a best-before date; it is printed on the case. Kits with cream are therefore ordered by demand per quarter, not by the cheapest case, and stored dry, not next to the laundry.
What is in a sample pack of the Essentials Amenities?+
The kits the hotel wants to lay out, each once in every handle variant, plus the empty sachet so that housekeeping has the wrapper in hand. The pack is sent on request via the contact form; number of rooms and category are enough.
Do serviced apartments need different kits?+
Yes, for the first night until the first shopping trip: the welcome dishwashing set with washing-up liquid, sponge and cloth, and the cleaning set with all-purpose cleaner and dishwasher tab, both individually packed. Plus the Amenities Box instead of the tray, because the bathroom in an apartment rarely has a shelf for sachets.

A sachet in your own hand?

Number of rooms and category are enough; you receive a proposal with case quantities and, on request, a sample pack.
