Three wooden hangers with chrome hooks on a brass rail in the wardrobe of a hotel suite
Guide · Hangers

Hotel hangers:
hook, bar or ring

Four designs, one question: is the rail fixed or not

The hanger is the item in the room that stays longest and disappears most often. This guide describes the four designs of the range, which belongs on which clothes rail, how many a room needs and what separates wood and plastic in daily use.

FOUR DESIGNS

Hook, bar, clip bar, ring

All wooden hangers of the range measure 44 x 23 x 1.2 cm. What sets them apart is at the top at the hook and at the bottom at the bar.

With hook

fixed on the rail
  • Chrome hook, bar for trousers
  • For fixed clothes rails
  • In wood, in beech, in black
  • 50 per case

With anti-theft head

ring instead of hook
  • Ball head runs in a closed ring
  • Metal ring, Ø 3.8 cm, nickel- or brass-plated
  • For removable or new rails
  • Ring: 60 per inner pack, 1,020 per case

With clip bar

2 per room
  • Hook and metal clips on the bar
  • Holds trousers and skirt at the waistband
  • Two per room are enough
  • Same size as the others
THE RAIL DECIDES

Which hanger on which rail

The choice is not made by the hanger but by the clothes rail in the wardrobe. Three cases.

The rail is screwed in place

Then it carries hangers with hook, with bar or with clip bar. The hook can be lifted off, which is no drawback in daily use, because the hanger stands in the wardrobe and not in the corridor. Houses that know their loss rate factor it in and buy the hanger with hook, because it is the more economical one.

The rail is removable or newly fitted

Then the hanger with anti-theft head belongs there: the ball head hangs in a closed metal ring that is threaded onto the rail before it is fitted. The hanger can be taken down and hung up again, but not taken off the rail while it is in place. For a rail with eight hangers the house needs eight rings.

The rail is fixed, the loss rate still high

Then the ring does not help, because it can only be threaded over the open end. Two ways remain: loosen the rail once and refit it with rings, or the hanger with hook and the house's print on the bar as a reminder.

The ring is the component: Those who want the protection order hangers and rings separately. The metal ring fits rails up to 3.8 cm in diameter, the plastic ring up to 3.5 cm. Measure the rail before ordering, do not guess.

HOW MANY AND WHICH WOOD

Hangers per room, wood against plastic

Two numbers and one question of material, then the order stands.

How many hangers a room needs

Six to eight in the double room, two of them with clip bar. Ten to twelve in the suite. Plus a fifth reserve in the store, so that a missing hanger is replaced on the day of arrival before the guest misses it.

Wood or plastic

Wood is heavier, hangs more calmly on the rail and suits wardrobes of wood or veneer. Beech is the harder, paler version, black the one for dark wardrobes. The plastic hanger is lighter, unaffected by moisture and the choice for holiday apartments and houses that count the hanger as a consumable. Both come from German production: the wooden hanger without bar and the 44 cm plastic hanger.

Care

Wipe wood damp, do not soak; a hook that loosens is tightened. Plastic tolerates every cleaning agent. Hangers that break are usually overloaded: a coat belongs on two.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about hangers

What executive housekeepers and buyers ask about hangers and rings.

Does the anti-theft ring fit every rail?+
On round rails up to 3.8 cm in diameter the metal ring, up to 3.5 cm the plastic one. On oval or square rails neither fits. Before ordering, measure the rail and check whether it can be removed, otherwise the ring will not go on.
Can the guest take down the hanger with anti-theft head?+
Yes, the hanger comes off the ring like off a hook, it hangs on the ball head. What the guest cannot do is take the ring off the rail. So the hanger stays in the wardrobe, but the guest hangs up their jacket as comfortably as ever.
Why are wooden hangers 50 to a case and not 500?+
Because a 44 cm wooden hanger needs space and has weight. Fifty per case is one floor of six to eight rooms. Rings, by contrast, come 1,020 to a case in inner packs of 60, enough for around 130 rooms.
Can the house's logo be put on the hanger?+
Yes, branded or embossed on the bar or the shoulder. The minimum quantity is stated on the item in the portal. A logo on the hanger is also the friendliest reminder that it belongs to the house.
Hanger with bar or without?+
With bar when trousers and skirts are hung up in the room, so almost everywhere. Without bar for houses that use the hanger only for jackets and coats, say at the coat rack in the corridor or in meeting rooms. The hanger without bar is slimmer (1.3 cm) and comes from German production.
