The logo on PU leather:
area, quantity, process
A logo on the guest folder is the first thing the guest reads at the desk. This guide describes where the embossing sits on the eighteen items, which surfaces are suitable and which not, which minimum quantity applies per item and how the path runs from draft via sample photo to production run, with the lead time that goes with it.
Large, medium, small
The area decides how the logo works. Three groups, depending on how much space the item offers.
Large area
- Guest folder, writing folder, desk pad
- Logo centred or in the lower right corner
- Up to the width of a hand
- The surfaces the guest reads
Medium area
- Tissue box, TV remote folder, menu holder, bill folder
- Logo on the front or the lid
- At most a third of the edge
- Visible without dominating
Small area
- Coaster, remote control holder, handles of shoehorn and brush
- Only the mark, no wordmark
- An embossing of 2 to 3 cm
- Repetition, not size
From how many cases the logo is possible
The minimum quantity for embossing differs per item and is stated on the item in the portal. It is counted in cases, not in pieces.
One case is enough
Coaster (500 pieces), bill folder (200), remote control holder (100) and writing folder (100): for these four items one case is enough, because it holds many pieces anyway. A house with 40 rooms has the embossing and the reserve with one case of writing folders.
Two to five cases
Tray with cut-outs, menu holder, square desk pad, TV remote folder and shoehorn from two cases; tissue box, large desk pad and clothes brush from three; guest folder from four; stationery box and tray with drawer from five. For the guest folder four cases are 120 pieces, which suits houses from 100 rooms.
Ten cases
Brochure holder and waste bin come in tens per case, the embossing starts at ten cases, so 100 pieces. For smaller houses the waste bin is therefore the item that stays without logo, while guest folder and desk pad carry it.
| Minimum quantity | Items | Pieces |
|---|---|---|
| 1 case | coaster, bill folder, remote control holder, writing folder | 500, 200, 100, 100 |
| 2 cases | tray with cut-outs, menu holder, desk pad square, TV folder, shoehorn | 100, 160, 100, 100, 200 |
| 3 cases | tissue box, desk pad 47 x 37 cm, clothes brush | 120, 180, 240 |
| 4 cases | guest folder | 120 |
| 5 cases | stationery box, tray with drawer | 100, 100 |
| 10 cases | brochure holder, waste bin | 100, 100 |
Do not emboss everything: A house with 40 rooms embosses guest folder, desk pad and TV folder and leaves coaster and waste bin plain. Three embossed items per room carry the hand, the rest falls into line.
From draft to production run
The line runs in re-production, the logo goes onto the item in manufacturing. That is why embossing has a fixed process and a lead time that cannot be shortened.
1. Draft
You send the logo as a vector file, we place it on the item and send the draft back with dimensions: position, size, distance from the edge. A logo with fine lines is simplified for embossing; that is in the draft before you approve.
2. Approval and sample photo
After your approval the sample is made in manufacturing and you receive the photo. Only then does the run start. Changes after the sample photo cost time, because the tool is made anew.
3. Run and lead time
From order confirmation and approval of the draft, allow around 117 days until delivery; that is stated on every item. Those who want the line in the house for the season approve the draft four months ahead.
| Step | What you do | What you receive | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Draft | send logo as vector file | draft with position and size | a few days |
| Approval | confirm draft | sample photo from manufacturing | some weeks |
| Run | confirm order | goods with embossing | around 117 days from approval |
What works without logo
All eighteen items come plain, in the same re-production with the same lead time. Those who want to start at once order plain and add the embossed items with the next run; the surface is the same, the difference is only the embossing.
All eighteen items with picture, size and minimum quantity are on the page Premium accessories in PU leather.
