Three pump dispensers for hotel cosmetics on a bathroom shelf
Guide · Hotel cosmetics

Choosing hotel cosmetics correctly

Three guides for purchasing and housekeeping

Dispenser or miniature, the round that refills the system, and the calculation per room: the three questions that stand before the changeover in the bathroom, each answered in one guide.

THE GUIDES

Three questions, three answers

Each guide answers one question that purchasing and housekeeping ask us about cosmetics in the guest bathroom.

The lines, the bracket and the cartons are on the overview page Dispenser system for the hotel bathroom.

Miniatures

End of the line on 1 January 2030

  • Single bottle, sachet, wrapped soap
  • What is banned is the packaging, not the product
  • The ban applies regardless of material: paper and PLA change nothing
  • Housekeeping collects every unit individually

500 ml dispenser

Switching without rebuilding

  • Stands on the shelf or sits in a wall bracket
  • One bottle replaces around 50 miniatures of 10 ml

5 litre canister

The cheapest refill

  • One canister fills ten 500 ml dispensers
  • 39 percent less per millilitre
  • Pays off once a fixed refill round is in place
THE DEADLINE

What actually ends on 1 January 2030

Annex V of the European Packaging Regulation lists the formats that may no longer be placed on the market from 2030. Number 5 concerns the hotel bathroom directly: single-use packaging for cosmetic, hygiene and toiletry products in the accommodation sector, intended for a single booking.

Two points are regularly confused:

  • The packaging is banned, not the product. The bar of soap stays, the wrapper around it goes.
  • The material is irrelevant. Number 5 is the only line in the Annex that does not say single-use plastic packaging but single-use packaging. Switching from film to a paper sachet therefore buys no extra time.

Dispensers and refill containers sit expressly outside this list. Anyone switching today has the step behind them before it becomes an obligation, and three years to fold the change into the normal renewal of the bathroom.

The arithmetic per bottle

The price difference is not in the dispenser, it is in the refill:

LineRefill from the 5 l canister
Dove Professional39 % cheaper
Lux Professional30 % cheaper
TRESemmé Moisture Rich35 % cheaper

One 5 litre canister fills ten 500 ml bottles.

The saving only carries with a fixed refill round. Without it the canister sits in the store and the bottle gets bought again anyway.

EQUIPMENT

What goes into the bathroom

Three decisions are enough: bottle size, bracket and line. Everything else follows.

PartVersion
Dispenser 500 mlwith pump, filled
Dispenser 300 mlwith pump, filled

Wall bracket 500 mlplastic or ABS

The stainless steel bracket gets cheaper with volume.

The lines

Two routes are open. Brand lines (Dove Professional, Lux Professional, TRESemmé) are familiar to the guest and need no explanation. Own lines such as Argan, Dolce eVita or Oliv One give the bathroom a signature of its own that can be tied to the property.

Both come as a 500 ml bottle and as a 5 litre canister, so the logic is identical. Changing the line changes nothing about brackets or the refill round.

THE RANGE

The range at a glance

Six lines, two bottle sizes, one canister. Three features set the lines apart: origin, pack size and holder.

Brand or own line

Dove, Lux and TRESemmé are branded goods. The guest places the bottle before pressing the pump. We deliver branded goods unchanged: no hotel logo, no label of your own, no special colour. Argan, Dolce eVita and Oliv One are own lines without a brand logo. Argan contains argan oil and is the only one of the three with body lotion. Dolce eVita contains olive oil, and its shower gel carries a note of guaraná. Oliv One combines Italian olive oil with a delicate linden blossom fragrance.

Dispenser and canister

The brand lines come in the 500 ml pump dispenser, the own lines in the 300 ml pump dispenser. Refilling is always done from the 5 litre canister. One canister fills ten dispensers of 500 ml or sixteen dispensers of 300 ml. The store room then holds one canister per product, not a carton of small bottles per floor.

Holder and cartons

Dove has its own wall holder in white ABS. Lux and TRESemmé share a black, lockable holder. For the 300 ml dispensers of the own lines there is a stainless steel holder that fits all three. The 500 ml shampoo dispenser comes 20 or 24 to a carton depending on the brand, the 300 ml dispenser 30 to a carton, the canister of the own lines 2 to a carton.

Line and productsDispenser and holder
Dove: 5 per fragrance line, two fragrance lines500 ml, holder in white ABS
Lux: 6, one fragrance500 ml, holder in black ABS, lockable
TRESemmé: 5, Moisture Rich500 ml, holder in black ABS, lockable
Argan: 3, with body lotion300 ml, holder in stainless steel
Dolce eVita: 2300 ml, holder in stainless steel
Oliv One: 2300 ml, holder in stainless steel

An honest word: No branded bottle carries the name of your property. If you need it on the bottle, choose an own line or ask us about a private label.

THE ROUTE

The route to the order in four steps

Four decisions in this order, and the order is set.

1. Choose the line

A brand if the guest should recognise the bottle. An own line if the bathroom should have a signature of its own. Between two lines it is not the data sheet that decides but the bottle in your own bathroom: a sample package with one dispenser per line shows fragrance, pump and label before a quantity is set.

2. Fix the products

Liquid soap stands at the washbasin, hair and shower gel in the shower. One bottle for hair and body replaces two dispensers with one. Among the own lines, body lotion is available with Argan only. Every further product is one more item on the housekeeping trolley.

3. Settle the holder

The bottle stands on the shelf or hangs on the wall. The holder depends on the line. With the own lines it stays on the wall when you change the line, and no new drill holes are needed.

4. Work out the quantity and order

Number of rooms, occupancy and consumption per guest night give the demand in fillings and canisters, and the demand calculator does the sum for you. Orders are placed in full cartons. From two cartons we deliver carriage paid; countries and exceptions are listed in the delivery information. In the portal you see all stock in real time.

FAQ

Frequent questions

Short answers, with figures from our range.

Does switching to paper packaging save us?+

No. Annex V number 5 of the Packaging Regulation is the only line that does not say single-use plastic packaging but single-use packaging. It therefore applies to every material, including paper and PLA. The sachet falls just like the film.

Do we have to drop miniatures immediately?+

No. The deadline runs to 1 January 2030. Until then existing formats may be sold and used. It makes sense to fold the switch into the next bathroom refurbishment rather than doing it under time pressure at the end.

How much does a refill from the canister save?+

A 5 litre canister fills ten 500 ml bottles. Depending on the line, each refill costs 30 to 40 percent less than a newly bought filled bottle. The product page in the shop shows the current price of each line.

Do we need wall brackets?+

Not necessarily, the bottle also stands on the shelf. The bracket stops it being taken away or knocked over and keeps the bathroom tidier. For 500 ml there are brackets in plastic or ABS, for 300 ml in stainless steel.

Brand line or own line?+

A brand line is recognised instantly and needs no explanation. An own line gives the bathroom a signature that fits the property. Technically nothing changes: both come as a 500 ml bottle and a 5 litre canister, brackets and refill round stay the same.

How often does it need refilling?+

That depends on occupancy and length of stay. More important than the rhythm is the rule: a bottle is emptied and cleaned, not topped up. Why that is and what the round looks like is in Refilling and hygiene. The quantity calculation per room is in the demand calculator.

Dispensers for your property?

Number of rooms and line are enough, you get a quantity calculation and, if you wish, a sample.
