Each guide answers one question that buyers ask us before they order terry.

What the number tells you, and what it doesn't
Weight in grams per square metre describes the density of the terry pile, not the quality of the cotton. A 500 gsm towel feels fuller and takes up more water. In return it needs longer to dry and puts more load on the laundry.
We carry both classes across the range. The premium for 500 gsm runs between 18 and 25 percent, around one fifth on average:

Per piece, white.
Two items sit in a class of their own. The bath mat comes in 650 and 700 gsm, because it has to absorb water and stay in place. The bathrobe with shawl collar comes in 380 and 450 gsm, sizes S to 3XL.
The honest recommendation: 400 gsm in the guest bathroom, 500 gsm where the guest takes their time. Mixing both means running two stock lines, worth it only with a clearly separate wellness area.
You order by the carton, not by the piece
Carton size decides how finely an order can be timed. It depends on the weight: heavier goods, fewer pieces per carton.

The range at a glance
Two towel lines, one bath mat, one bathrobe with shawl collar. Before the GSM comes into play, three features decide: the weave, the yarn with the hem, and the colour.
Weave: single-ply or two-ply terry
Both are terry, both have loops, and in operation they behave differently. Single-ply terry is made from single yarn that is compacted after weaving. It is soft, voluminous and very absorbent, our recommendation for the guest area. Two-ply terry consists of two or more twisted threads. It is denser, smoother and keeps its shape better, our recommendation for pool and fitness. The short rule: single-ply terry where the guest touches the towel, two-ply terry where it goes through the laundry every day.
Yarn and hem
Our terry is 100 per cent cotton, ring-spun and double-stitched. Ring-spun cotton gives a more even, firmer loop than open-end yarn, sheds less lint and keeps its structure over more washes. The double-stitched hem separates hotel goods from household goods. If the hem tears, the towel is lost, even when the pile is still good.
Colour
White is the standard because it can be treated with chlorine bleach, and dark grey is available. With coloured goods the dyeing process decides. Reactive-dyed goods are wash-fast and suit rooms and restaurant. Vat-dyed goods (indanthrene) resist chlorine and light far better and suit pool, sauna and spa.

An honest word: Terry shrinks in the first wash, by up to fifteen per cent depending on the quality. Allow for that with holders and shelves beforehand, not afterwards.
The route to the order in four steps
Four decisions in this order, and the order is set.
1. Define the place of use
Guest bathroom, wellness or pool: weave, GSM and dyeing depend on it. It pays not to use the same quality throughout the property. Lay the lighter and the heavier line side by side and you will not see the difference at once, but you feel it after the shower.
2. Determine sizes and set
Per guest you allow one bath towel, one or two hand towels and one face cloth, and one bath mat per bathroom. The guest towel belongs in the guest toilet and the second bathroom, the bath sheet in suite and wellness, the sauna sheet on the lounger.
3. Work out sets and cartons

4. Settle the logo and order
Your logo comes as embroidery or woven into the border, and the differences are explained in the guide Embroidery and woven logo. Special sizes and house colours are made to your specification. Yes, in two ways. Embroidery is applied to the finished towel and works from small quantities. A woven logo is created on the loom, belongs to the fabric and lasts as long as the towel, it requires the full production run. Both in Embroidery and woven logo.
It depends on the item, because goods are produced rather than shipped from stock. Examples: bath sheet from 500 pieces, hand towel from 1,050, soap towel from 1,050, bathrobe from 108.
