White hotel slippers half pulled out of a paper bag on the linen bedspread of a hotel bed
Guide · Packaging

Packed without plastic:
paper bag, band, loop pin

What the guest unpacks, what housekeeping carries, what ends up in the waste paper

The film bag around the slipper is the first piece of plastic a guest holds in the room. The Green range replaces it with paper, tape and pin. This guide shows the four packagings, what each is for and what it changes in operation.

FOUR WAYS

Four packagings, one principle

Every pair is packed individually so that the guest receives an untouched pair. How much material that takes depends on whether the pair goes into the wardrobe or onto the lounger.

Paper bag

room all eleven models
  • Tears open without scissors
  • Lies flat in the wardrobe
  • Goes into the waste paper
  • Printable with the property's logo

Paper band

spa Corteccia, Cork Rio, Bamboo
  • Holds the pair together visibly
  • Less material than a bag
  • The pairs lie flat in the case
  • Removed with one movement

Loop pin and flax tape

spa the toe-post sandals
  • Loop pin: Cork Sandal, Cork Pool Sandal, Sandal Bamboo
  • Flax tape: Corteccia Sandal
  • The smallest fastener there is
  • Undone without anything tearing
HOUSEKEEPING

What the packaging changes in operation

A different wrapping is also a different movement of the hand. Four places where housekeeping notices the difference.

Flat paper bags with hotel slippers stacked on the housekeeping trolley in a hotel corridor

On the trolley

Paper bags lie flat and stack cleanly, they do not slide like film. A case of Pinar with 250 pairs fills one compartment of the trolley, the layers from the case remain as separators.

In the wardrobe

Without a crease the paper bag looks placed, not thrown. Whoever puts the pair on the pillow or the foot mat puts it with the printed side up.

In the room's waste

The paper bag goes into the waste paper, band and flax tape likewise. The loop pin is a small plastic part and belongs in the residual waste. That is stated on the item.

When counting

Band and pin leave the pair visible, housekeeping sees colour and shape at a glance. With the paper bag the model is stated on the case, not on the bag.

Without inner film: The pairs lie in layers in the case, without film around each layer. The case itself is the outer packaging, it goes into the waste paper after unpacking.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about packaging

What purchasing and housekeeping ask about the wrapping.

Is a paper bag as hygienic as a film bag?+
Yes. Both keep the pair untouched until opening. The paper bag is closed like the film, only not transparent, and it lets air through, which is why the slipper does not get musty inside.
Can the guest see which model is in the bag?+
Not through the bag. That is why the model is stated on the case, and housekeeping lays out only one model per room. With the spa models with band or pin the pair is visible.
Does the paper bag tear in transport?+
Not in the case, the pairs lie in layers and support each other. On the trolley the bags lie flat, whoever stuffs them upright into a compartment creases them.
Is the loop pin made of plastic?+
Yes, a small part that holds the toe-post sandal together. It is the least amount of material that can join a pair, and it belongs in the residual waste. Anyone who does not want even that chooses Corteccia Sandal with flax tape.
Can the paper bag be used again?+
In the property yes, for instance as a bag for shoe polish or for small items in the spa. For a new pair no, because the pair should reach the guest untouched.

Look at a sample pair in its bag?

You receive room models in the paper bag and spa models with band, then you see how it looks in the wardrobe and on the lounger.
